Beverly and
her husband Carl moved to Fairfield Glade in 1996.
They moved here from western New York, the town of Amherst. Art
has always been a strong interest and after retirement there was time to
take some courses and develop skills. Pastels are her primary
medium. Painting people is her greatest interest and she works to
increase her skills in portraits.
Soon after retirement, Beverly and Carl
volunteered as missionaries to the island nation of Madagascar.
Many of her paintings reflect her impressions of the people of that
country. All profits from the sale of her work are donated to the
mission school in Bezaha, Madagascar.
Carl and Beverly traveled extensively.
They experienced an African Safari in Botswans, Namibia and Zimbabwe; the trip included South Africa.
European River Boat trips as well as touring in the United States all
provide inspiration from paintings. |

Beverly retired from teaching in the
Cheektowaga School system of western New York. Her experiences
included teaching first grade and many other elementary levels.
She later earned master's degrees in reading and special education.
During the last ten years of her career, she was the Coordinator of
Compensatory Services for the District, writing the grants for Title I
Federal Funds and supervising all remedial services. She was also
the consultant teacher for students with Learning and Behavioral
Disabilities. Her husband,
Carl, was a Lutheran Pastor. They have two married children. Son
Matthew and his wife, Kate live on Fripp Island in South Carolina
with their two children, Abigail and Kamerer. Daughter Miriam and
her husband, Scott and their two children, Michael and Sarah, live in
Getzville, New York. Family photos also inspire many paints.
