Marilyne studied design at the University of Cincinnati.  Then art went on hold as she raised four children with only time for a few night classes.  She was able to study life drawing and take a Portraiture Class at the Cincinnati Art Academy after the children were grown.  In the years following most of her art included painting scenery and set design for the productions at church and designing flyers and a brochure for the Auxiliary at the Mason Christian Village.

In 2003 Marilyne and her husband Hank moved to Fairfield Glade.  This was the opportunity she was waiting for; to take painting seriously.  She joined the Art Guild and started taking classes from local artist.  Mary Mueller's portrait class was the start of her love of pastel portraits and now is her favorite subject.  Watercolor is also one of her favorite mediums.
