Back to Featured Artist

I was born and raised in a small farming community in west central Wisconsin.  Growing up I enjoyed making "things", primarily of wood.  In Milwaukee, Wisconsin I earned a degree in Engineering that was interrupted by 2 years in the Army.

During my early working years I continued to work with wood; mostly building some furniture.  But, then a career in the Automotive Industry took most of my time.  Looking for a hobby as I was approaching retirement started some working with wood crafts and scroll work.  I participated in many Art and Craft Shows for the next several years.  Then I began Intarsia.  Intarsia is a 15th century art form started in Italy and is a "Mosaic of Wood."  Many types of wood are used, shaped into pieces, then assembled to a backing. I have no formal art training but enjoy being a member of the Art Guild.

Aside from golf, traveling, and studying  spirituality Intarsia takes all of my time.
