Picture Person Program
Initiated in 2003, this program has provide volunteers to fourth grade art classes or homerooms to introduce the artwork of the Old Masters and contemporary artist to the Cumberland Country elementary school children. Art Guild members help teach the appreciation of fine art to these students and help promote discussion with students through reflective dialog, calling attention to design elements and emotional response. Where extra time is granted, volunteers carry out art projects to reinforce the discussion points.
The Picture Person Program has donated art supplies to various schools for their art classrooms. This is made possible by funds earned by the Art Guild's Golf Tournament.
